Entitlements? Well Maybe Not For Long: 10-04-11

By Jill Edelman M.S.W., L.C.S.W . 10/04/2011

Our Children’s Future: This YouTube video link was sent to me by a dear friend. She posted it on her Facebook page. I did the same. The young lady featured in the video, Kira Fisher, speaks eloquently about her future concerns regarding her struggles with government funding and maintaining a life of self-respect and productivity.

Please share this video with others who have similar concerns for their adult children with special needs. But even more importantly, send this on to folks who “haven’t a clue” regarding how the reduction of social security and other programs will affect the lives of the disabled, not just the “seniors” or retirees who live next door.

Kira is a brave lady and spokesperson who can articulate the needs and feelings of other special needs adults. Brava to Kira Fisher! She is one courageous gal! Dignity, that’s the word that comes to mind. Kira has dignity. She deserves to keep it.

    Jill,

Thanks for sharing this. Any chance that any freedom or opportunity is taken away from our citizens that need it and deserve it most is so not right. Posted the link on my Facebook.
